Life changing events are significant events that impact your life. Events such as, giving birth for the first time, getting married, graduating high school, your children leaving the nest, death of a loved one or starting a new business/career. You get the idea.
This year 2019 has been full of life changing events for me. I took on a new role in ministry; leading our preservice prayer team. My sister/friend Joyce went to be with the Lord. But the one event I want to share about in this blog is the business women prayer breakfast I attended in October. The photo in this blog was taken after a very sweet time in prayer with some powerful and anointed women of God. My sisters Evie and Debbie in the photo will probably have a fit after seeing this post. As you can see we are all with shiny sweaty faces 😊. But that’s what happens when you lose yourself in prayer. Hair doesn’t matter. Make-up is removed by the heartfelt sincere tears. All that matter is the fact that you are in the presence of God. And we know that in His presence is the fullness of joy.
So, let me tell you how this business women prayer breakfast became a life changing event for me. You see, prior to attending I was in a silent state of sadness almost depression over the death of my sister/friend. Her death occurred right in January during the time of my new journey in my prayer life. I was waking every morning praying and journaling. I was leading Sunday morning prayer at my church. But then I fell into a place of feeling like I can’t pray. I was asking other leaders to fill in for me. I stopped journaling my prayer time. My prayers became very quick and “thank you Jesus for waking me up”. I was struggling with issues on my job. I was just starting a new business and re-entering the entrepreneur world again. BUT I felt like I was just existing and not living. BUT GOD, BUT GOD, BUT GOD!!! You see His Word tells us that He knows the plans He has for us, declares the Lord, plans to prosper us and not harm us, plans to give us a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) It was part of His plan for me to attend this prayer breakfast.
As I walk through the door I walked into a room full of women praying. Before I could get to my seat I could feel something happening to me. I just felt a strong desire to cry. There where a circle of women in the front of the room. Each one was given a specific task in prayer. One after the other began to pray for family, vision, resources, love, finances, health and wellness, success, pursuing the presence of God. They prayed into every area that I was dealing with at that time. I have been to a few prayer breakfast gatherings but nothing quite like this one. The main focus was PRAYER, not the breakfast.
The prayer gathering ended with a charge; Called to Active Duty. I know God was calling me back to the place of prayer I began at the beginning of the year. October 19, 2019 was a life changing event for me. Those women of God will always be remembered. I give a big cyber hug to my sister in Christ Minister Bridget Tutt McCray, No Longer Bound Enterprises, LLC. How pleasant it is for sisters to dwell together in unity and good fellowship.
One should never underestimate the power of prayer. James 5 declares, ” the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
Today I declare Psalm 34: “I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.”
I encourage you to seek God in prayer. Things happen when we pray.
