Today April 3rd, I sat in the homegoing service of my friend Freddy. I watched the picture presentation of his life as a young boy into his adulthood as a man. There were pictures of his wife, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings and friends. Pictures of him in the military, at the amusment park, playing the guitar, receiving his brown belt in martial arts, at dinner with family. I read through the obituary the start of his life and the end of his life. I listened as each friend shared reflections of how they knew him and how he impacted their life. I wanted to stand and share as well, but I felt so full I knew I wouldn’t be able to get it out without sobbing uncontrollably, so I sat in my seat full. Full of emotions, full of memories, full of thoughts. Then this one picture grabs my heart. It’s a picture of Freddy hugging two of his sisters. One of those sisters is my dear friend Joyce who went to heaven just two years ago. I thought about how similar they are, her and Freddy. So full of life and they lived life on purpose with joy. Out of nowhere I feel this overwhelming feeling to scream…I WILL LIVE FREE! Free from the cares of this world, free from boundaries, free from the opinion of others, free from anything that has held me back from experiencing an abundant life.
Jesus said in John 10:10 “the thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, you’re telling me that You Lord want us to live life in great quantity; more than adequate; oversufficient; well supplied. Ok, that’s exactly what I want too. Yes, Lord. I will live life free and more abundantly. And, it has started.
I have been blessed to be a part of DeVon Franklin’s LiveFree movement. Can I just tell you how liberating it has been. I along with over 200 others have had the opportunity to be in two live Zoom sessions with DeVon. I thank God because those sessions paved the way for today. Living the memory of my friends Joyce and Freddy put the icing on the cake of LiveFree. They were the true examples of living a free life. They weren’t bound by what others thought freedom was or is. They enjoyed life to the fullest. The homegoing service of my friend served as a confirmation for me, that LiveFree is in my life at the right time. NOW!
How about you? Are you living day to day. Living just to survive so you can see the next day. No more just living. Let’s live life on purpose. Let’s discover who we really are in God. Let’s dream again. Let’s set goals and go after them. Let’s live life free and on purpose.
Life Prayer
God, grant me the COURAGE to live my life, the WISDOM to know when I’m just living and when I’m living abundantly and FAITH to know that YOU are in control of my life.

I can’t even begin to explain how I feel after reading this, other than that one line playing over and over in my head: “I WANT THAT TOO, LORD.” That alone is how I feel and now I feel myself making up my mind about a new and free life. GOD IS SO GOOD. Thank you Lord for bringing me here today. Thank you for sending and using LaDonna.
