from me to you…

What is happening to this world?  I as I continue to watch the coverage of the massacre of nine African American lives I just feel such a burden for this nation.

This was a direct attack against the African American race.  Some may not agree, but I know I hear God and as I sat watching the news I felt this strong in my spirit that “this is an attack on your foundation and your heritage.” Then, I felt that it was an attack on the body of Christ to put fear in the church.  Within moments of writing this in my journal the media announced that the shooter said,” he chose the AME Church because it was historical.”  Satan continues to try and eliminate our very existence.  But, I’m here to say that we are a chosen generation, set apart for the work of the Kingdom.  Our foundation is to strong to be destroyed.  We shall live and not die and declare the works of the Lord.

Emanuel AME Church is the oldest African Methodist Episcopal Church in the south.  It was burned down in 1822.  It was destoyed by an earthquake in 1886. Underground church services were held here for more than 30yrs. Martin Luther King, Jr in 1962 delivered a passionate speech on “Making the American dream a reality.”  You see we have rich history in this place.  After having church services underground for 30yrs the church was renamed to Emanuel – God with us.   God is with us the African American people and the body of Christ.  He did not give us the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind.

Now I have the question of Where are the prophets of the church?  2 Corinthians 2 lets us know that we are not unaware of his (satan) schemes.    We need the prophets of God to rise up in this hour.  God is real and He speaks, but are we listening?   This young man entered the church with evil on his heart and sat amongst the believers for an hour before opening fire and killing nine lives.  Satan is getting bolder in his attacks…what are we the church going to do???   I’m challenging us to pray more, love more, know God more and listen for His voice more. We the 5-fold ministry have an obligation to to equip God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up  until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephe 4)

I’ll leave you with this statement made on CNN by Rev. John Paul Brown of Mt. Zion AME Church, Charleston, SC, “the young man has no clue of what he has really caused to happen. What he did was meant to divide the country, but it has caused unity in prayer.”  You see what the devil meant for evil God has turned it around for good.

Be blessed…

Amen! We have been called to come together in prayer! Black, White, Asian, Russian, Italian. Until the church will stand TOGETHER in unity it is not going to happen. We need to stop looking at our brother/sister and seeing the differences but look for the One thing, the most important thing, that makes us brothers/sister. It is Christ! He is our Common Denominator. He is the One that calls us together to do battle and withstand the fiery darts of the evil one. He is the One that calls us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU! He is the One that calls us to see HIM in our brothers/sisters eyes and to stand along side in time of need. He is the One that calls us to be SELFLESS like Him and not SELFISH like the world.
