When one door closes, another opens, but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us.

From me to you…
I’ve been working a temporary receptionist position at a medical and educational center for children and adults with disabilities. This assignment has taught me a lot. I am being enlightened on what love, kindness, patience, long suffering, goodness, gentleness, hope and faith is really about. I’ll tell you more about that in another post. But, today I want to share with you some insight I received while experiencing a power outage on my shift.
The center has automatic sliding entry and exit doors at the main entrance. When the power went out the first door from the outside was still working, but the second door had to be manually opened by the facilities coordinator. What I saw happen next was how this post came about. A few individuals entering from the outside were so use to the right door sliding open to the left that they stood in front of the door waiting for it to open, not realizing that the left door was open for them. Awe! Take a look at the doors in my picture. Those are the actual doors I’m referencing. One young lady stood there even after I signaled to her to use the other door. I had to actually get up and tell her that the other door was open. After each try their faces caused me to chuckle and shake my head slightly. I believe we all can relate to those “duh” moments. Bob Marley says it best in his song Come in From the Cold… “when one door is closed, don’t you know another is open.”
My friend, you may be facing a closed door in your life. Don’t look at that door too long. Take a look around you. Take a look within you. There is another open door. Doors are being opened for you that no man can shut. A “no” cannot keep you from your purpose in life. The only way it will stop you is if you allow it. There is another door and it’s OPEN!
Blessings be upon you
